About Ginger Ashcom

Ginger is a second-generation native of Albemarle County, Virginia, whose family has raised cattle, crops, shown hunters & jumpers, help found the Farmington Hunt Club, was active in polo and foxhunting. Her maternal grandmother and her mother were avid gardeners with gardens open for  garden week. Her maternal grandfather, an avid farmer, owned City Mortgage & Insurance Co (now Short Insurance) and helped found the National Bank (now Wells Fargo).  Her paternal grandmother was very influential in organizing the Farmington Golf Club events and the FCC Bridge Club. Her paternal grandfather was an successful architect in Pittsburgh, PA and retired to his home on Blue Ridge Rd in Farmington Country Club. She helped build & manage a family manufacturing company with her father in Albemarle.

Ginger and her husband, David, a retired farrier and horseman, live on their 45-acre horse farm in NW Albemarle where they breed, train and board hunters, jumpers and foxhunters. Their older son, David Jr., owns his own heating and cooling company, David Ashcom Heating & Cooling LLC, in Crozet, VA and he has a son, Lincoln. Their younger son, Morgan, is a freelance photographer in the New York and teaches photography at UWCONN.

Ginger loves gardening, riding horses, helping clients with property selection, farm layout, renovation ideas and solving problems.

She also has a rental house and 2 apartments she manages for herself.
